I mean it depends on what you mean by hang out. If you join the same house yeah you will see each other around and are much much much more likely to hang out.
If you're not in the same house I feel like the hanging out (when it happens) is exceedingly rare (I guess I made it sound like it was more common).
If you like each other and are in the same house you might become part of her family. I know a girl who was a Gamma Chi and she introduced her little to the girl she really liked from her group who pledged her house...and now she's that girl's grandbig and they hang out as a family all the time.
But really it depends on how much you like that person and how much that person likes you.

You can still be friends, but the age factor does come into play. Once you pledge a sorority you will hang out with your pledge class all the time. You will hang out a little with your big, but not so much with the juniors and seniors.
if you pledge their sorority you will see them at swaps and whatnot, but like I said, you will primarily hang out with your pledge class.

I just thought bc of the age difference (freshman..junior) they wouldn't..
