by: BewareSome houses have better rush rounds than others. But please BEWARE. You need to look at a house further than the amount of energy they have during singing songs. See what their philanthropy is, what their dues are, what types of girls they have and what their chapter stands for. DON'T pick a house just because they rush well because you may end up unhappy!!!

What kind of a warning is this? I agree that if you have a (singular) girl pick you up at the door who is lacking energy, that she may just be having a bad round or is shy, and we shouldn't judge an entire chapter based on one girl. But an entire chapter not rushing well? Sounds like an excuse to me!
The chapters that rush well do so because they have outgoing girls who know how to handle themselves in large groups! That is exactly The type of girl that makes a sorority fun!
A great rush indicated a sorority that knows how to throw a great party, and a sorority that can make even tedious fund raising or campaigning seem like a blast!
If you are not having fun during rush rounds, then you won't have much fun on ordinary days either!

Every sorority has GREAT philanthropies! Every sorority stands for something great!
Judge a sorority by how they make you feel! All the rest doesn't matter! Even the worst chores are fun when you have your sisters by your side!

If this is how moms and dads are entertaining themselves, I would say there is something wrong with their marriage!
Parents, getting off the internet and go enjoy life now that your children are gone! Run around the house naked, throw some sparks into the bedroom, go get a life!
Let the girls sling all the mud that want, these next four years will help them grow!

At rush, yes. But in general? No.
What houses are like at Rush isn't what they are like the other 51 weeks of the year. It's not a true representation of what being a sister in that house is like.

It's important to be able to make the PNMs feel comfortable. If your house is full of awkward girls who make everything seem like a chore and who don't get excited about their potential sisters, why would you want to join?
