getting into a sorority
by: #olemiss20Is it possible to get into a sorority here if you have braces? I have a 4.0 GPA and a high ACT score. I also am in almost every club my school offers(also is a position holder in all included). I'm althletic and people consider me to be outgoing. Will they overlook my brace face, or should I try to find another school I'm head over heels for? XOXO

Of course you have a very good chance of pledging a chapter at Ole Miss with braces. Maybe not if you are wearing head gear ;-) Maybe not the "beauty queen" houses. There are many chapters that will give you a chance IF you are well prepared, have your recs in place and can carry a decent conversation, in addition to the description above.

GIRL!! I think you're in one of my classes (MWF you sit near me) and I have to say that you're adorable and so gorgeous!! I see past your braces because you are the sweetest thing ever!!
If a sorority girl does't see past them then it's their loss because you're straight up awesome and super smart!!

Her nickname on her original post is #olemiss20. I think she is currently a high school senior, so it's probably not the girl you're thinking of @AHHHHH. But I could be wrong.

I don't think that wearing braces will hold you back that much if you excel at all the other categories (look put together, communicate well, great grades, great activities).
And it would be kind of dumb (no offense) to base where you're going to college on whether an image-obsessed chapters might cut you because you are wearing braces. Why would you want to be part of a sisterhood that behaves that way?
All of this to say that...yes you would get into a sorority at Ole Miss even if you were wearing braces

Correction: you would probably get in if what you have disclosed is accurate (because no one can say anything for certain)

Just know that you sit near me in one of your classes (like really near) and know that you're so lovable and precious and that every sorority should be fist fighting over you!!
