You'll see girls wearing everything. Nikes and tennis shoes or chacos or converse. Then you'll see girls in cute shorts and Tory burch sandals or jack Rogers. You want to be comfortable this day but you'll also want to look cute and put together. I wore j crew shorts and comfy black sandals. I didn't regret it.

If it's normal/cute shorts then that's perfect. Converses are cute, too!
Some girls last year wore Nikes but I wouldn't do that since (most) sororities grade you on presentation (are you clean, does it look like you never brush your hair or teeth, do you have marker marks from the bars from the night before, etc.). You'll look a lot neater in real shorts.
Honestly, wear comfy shoes (no running shoes/tennis shoes) and cute shorts. even if it's just khaki shorts, white shorts, or black shorts it just looks so much better.
