If I got my recs in and I have a good gpa and im personable am I most likely going to get a bid? What is the reason that most people get cut besides grades and not having a rec?

Girls get cut for grades or reputation. Also, if you are beyond weird, like visible tattoos or excessive piercings. Weird style choices will also cause us to pause. We want girls who blend in. Standout with your cuteness, not your weirdness.

Most girls will receive bids. If you do get cut, alpha phi Is colonizing and will probably pick up everybody who gets cut.

Also, adpi is moving into their gorgeous new home this year. Theta will suffer. They won't be cutting too many.

"We want girls who blend in?" How sad for you and your entire house if that is truly your mentality. "Stand out with your cuteness"??? What a narrow mind you all must have. I actually cringed reading your post. This is 2015 and there are great people of ALL types. Everyone doesn't have to look like a clone of some elitist, shallow, superficial doll like you. Good lord girl open up your mind. What a bland world you must live in. Really, I feel sorry for you....

Sorry theta if I offended you. No need to feel sorry for me! I feel sorry for you! Are you always so uptight and judgmental?

And I am only offended by your shallow ignorance. I think you need to look up the meaning of uptight and judgmental. YOU are the judgmental one. I can only hope that ONE day you and others like you will wake up. You are a sad example of how petty girls can be.

Of course houses want girls that fit in. But fitting in doesn't have to mean that you need to look like and act like the girl next to you. You can look different and have a different style and a different personality and still fit in. It's called appreciating the differences in people and recognizing how those differences can compliment one another. You don't have to be a cookie cutter sample of one another to fit in. Clearly that girl and that house doesn't feel that way and that is too bad for them.

I was the poster above nicknamed "Reasons" I didn't say that sororities were looking for cookie cutter girls. I simply said that we were looking for girls who fit in!!! There is a difference.

There are all kinds of girls in my sorority! Some are blonde, some have dark hair. Some are skinny, and some athletic, and some not so skinny. Some girls are honor students, and other struggle with grades. Some drink and some don't. Some go to church every Sunday, and others choose to sleep in. BUT, we all share the same values, we appreciate the same things, we all home that "something" in common that bonds us as sisters.

If somebody were to come through rush wearing something that was totally out of place on our campus, like Goth, or somebody dressed like a boy, or somebody dressed like a stripper, or multiple body/face piercings and tattoos that drew attention to herself (not in a good way), we would notice and probably NOT "celebrate" her uniqueness.

Sorry if that makes me and my sorority shallow. It's not that I/we can't love and appreciate these girls, it's just that we would have a different set of ideals that wouldn't necessarily gel well together.

I don't even think these types of girls would want to rush in the first place, but if they want to be in a sorority, they will need to conform somewhat!

Personally, I cry when I break a fingernail, and love to dress up in fancy. I probably wouldn't be accepted on the girls softball or basketball teams either.
