Going to the games is fun and I encourage you to go, but you won't really be able to socialize with actives, other than being seen and saying hello,

1. You don't want to girls from one sorority seeing you with girls from another sorority. It could ruin your rush.

2. You don't want to accidentally get so drunk that you do something stupid.

3. Actives are there with their friends. They don't really want a bunch of random girls interrupting their fun. Rush is where they are "supposed" to get to know you.

Here's what I would do: go to the grove with other freshmen. Have fun, but don't get drunk. The first game will be the rebel run for freshmen. Do that! It's so cool! Then Just hang out in the grove. Not much socializing is going on during the game anyway. We are all cheering on the Rebs!
