so is this saying if you have a good rec for every house turned in on time and professionally presented lot of hard work put into it, if you dont know actives from the houses ranked above aopi and theta that you might as well hang it up now? you will not get a bid from the top 8 houses if u are not being invited to the pre parties going on now or if no one is friending you on facebook? they dont even give u a chance to meet u during rush? the decisions for who will be in the pledge class for the defined top 8 houses is decided b4 rush or if not u still will be cut if they dont meet you at a pre party b4 rush? well it is nice to know there is still aopi and theata and alpha phi. i hope this isnt true though as i am looking so forward to rush week. i am oos and have secured some wonderful recs some even ole miss alumnin but I did not know i had to also be invited this past spring and then attend pre parties to be able to be considered.

Go into rush with an open mind. Don't take these observations too literally. There is a lot that goes into choosing a new pledge class. Way more than you will learn about. Nobody knows where you will end up. Generally, it's only the top six houses that already have PARTIALLY chosen their pledge class. So much will change between now and rush. The only thing that we can guarantee is that grade risks are usually the first to be cut and that only chapter legacies have an advantage.
Don't worry about Facebook or pre-games. Those are usually more a weeding out process than a choosing process anyway!

Our warnings aren't to discourage you from rushing. It's to let you know that the reasons you are cut from certain houses will have nothing to do with you or how wonderful you are.
Those of us giving advice know how much rush hurts and how much of ourselves we lost in the process. In the end it doesn't matter what house you end up in. All our sororities are great!

it's doubtful. kappa has most of their girls picked out, and some that will be lead on and dropped later (happened to my friend last year - she spent all her time with kappas before rush and was dropped before pref). just keep an open mind and let your connections happen. me open and friendly, and you're going to end up where you need to be
