The cuts that hurt the most are the ones that you don't see coming. For me it was KD. I was rushed super hard by one of their alumni advisors and a member of their rush team. I was sure I was a shoo in! I sat on the front row and watched their skit, confident that I was receiving a bid. Pref day invites were handed out and guess what, they cut me!

Lucky for me I still had xo, Ddd, and dg left for pref (this was two years ago when you preffed three houses). Otherwise, I would have been crushed!

I ended up getting a bid to another of my favorite houses and have never looked back!

Moral of the story is that you can never count on a bid from any house, no matter who you know or how wonderful you think you are. Keep your options open and bid day will be a day you will never forget!

my sister told me about this going through rush (she didn't go to ole miss). she had something similar happen to her, where a house pulled the rug underneath her. It is so important to keep your options open and not let ANY OF THE HOUSES know who you favorites are, especially because your favorites can change during rush week.

I've heard tons of stories about other sororities being rude to PNM's. I honestly don't believe they are actually being rude, I just think they don't rush girls they are planning on cutting as hard as those they plan on inviting back. KD is the only sorority who is fake enough to pretend to love a girl then cut her after she falls in love with their house. Even mid and bottom tier sororities give a PNM some sort of clue.

Omg that's true! After the first round I was cut by 2 sororities. Both sororities were middle tier and at both my experience was kind of eh. I wasn't excited about them and didn't really care that I was cut. KD cut me after skit and boy was that a shock! I was sure they wanted me! They were so bubbly and nice to me. They actually had already told me about all the gifts I would be receiving on bid day and who our first swap was going to be with. An active texted me after skit rounds and told me she couldn't wait to pref me! Imagine my pain after I received my pref schedule and they were not on it! I still got a bid to a great sorority, but I no longer am friends with the KD's who rushed me. After bid day, they no longer even said hi to me as I passed them on campus.

The same thing happened to me. Seriously exact same thing. I was rushed hard by two alumni advisors throughout the summer and I met a lot of actives once I got onto campus. I basically had it set in my mind that I would be a KD. (Of course you shouldn't have anything set in mind... you should keep an OPEN mind). But to my surprised, I thought I would be going back to them on pref and they had cut me right after skit. I still got into another great house but it was a big shock. KD had rushed me so hard it was strange that they would cut me? They must have found something wrong that I'll still never know why. I preffed DDD and DG and I can honestly say that I am thankful for the situation that took place. Had they not cut me, I could've ended up in a house that would've been fake (to me at least). I felt as if they just were telling me everything I needed or wanted to hear. I am happy with my decision and I hope this sheds some light on the fact that you should not believe everything the actives or advisors tell you.

It's sad but true! Alumni need to quit with the rushing! Actives need to learn to not make promises!

KD pays huge fines every year for dirty rushing. They don't care they just pay the fines.

Not really KD, but keep dreaming big!

Maybe but the pretty much do this with hundreds of girls! Some will be disappointed come pref night!
