the end of dg?

by: future

So there is a huge law suit right now against Ole Miss DG that has made its way to nationals. If this case doesn't end in favor of DG, it is very likely that they will get kicked off campus....which would be huge because Ole Miss has the founding chapter of DG. Thoughts?

This lawsuit was settled back in 2009. It has no relevance today

A member of delta gamma cut her foot on a broken glass bottle while at a sorority function BACK IN 2007. It was settled in 2009.

Even if it was still ongoing, which it is not, a cut foot is hardly a reason for delta gamma to lose their charter and be thrown off campus.

Get a life gossip girls!

Hi, I'm a DG.
1) A girl sued for medical damages in 2007 and this has now been over for 6 years. A bit of a drama queen if you ask me. I mean if I had a dollar for every greek life or Ole Miss event where someone got a bruise, a cut, or twisted an ankle. So that's done with. Maybe try a different tactic for cutting down a house before recruitment.
2) AH here's the different tactic. Miserable and regrets their decision? Lies to make girls drop?! Hell to pay?! Girl what the heck happened to you to make you so hateful? DG is one of the larger sororities on campus by numbers, so if everyone was miserable I'm sure we would be much smaller. I'm sure miserable girls also wouldn't focus so much on teamwork with everyone else to do well in events, plan sisterhood retreats that are a blast, and you know just hang out with our friends on a daily basis. Are there some girls that for whatever reason are unhappy and drop? Absolutely. EVERY sorority has girls who drop for 195 different reasons. The only time I recall a girl being forced to drop was not recently but there were lots of behavior issues and previous meetings, but she was a legacy and DG didn't want to cut the legacy line by dismissing her, so she was asked to resign and she did and everyone involved was happier. Like I said, not recent. But to me that seems like you're looking out for your members and respecting family ties to DG to avoid a legacy having to explain to her family why she was removed, not "making up lies."

My best friend was just forced to drop this year and if she didn't drop they were going to expel her from DG. It was all over false accusations where there was no proof. The honor board girl must be so miserable and board with with her own life that she has to force a girl to resign just because she doesn't like her. How sad. I definitely wouldn't shed a tear if DG gets a taste of their own medicine.

This is 100% not true whatsoever. There is no lawsuit. DG is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar house expansion.

1) Ole Miss DG is technically the alpha chapter for delta gamma, but due to a house fire that completely destroyed the property nations revoked the "alpha" title to instead "alpha psi" due to the complications with housing. The chapter is still respected and look as the founding chapter though nationally.
2) besides the 2009 case there is an ongoing case FROM nationals towards a member from another chapter/university that currently goes to Ole Miss. That being said there's no repercussions towards this chapter and isn't any issue for pnms

Alpha Psi was made DG's national "mother chapter" after the fact. The original chapter, Psi, was founded in 1872 at the Lewis School, a private boarding school in Oxford that was sort of a combination high school/junior college for girls.

Psi closed in 1889 when the Lewis School closed, and Alpha Psi was chartered in 1927. Back in the day, DG used to "recycle" chapter names when a chapter closed, and by this time there was another Psi Chapter at Goucher College in Baltimore. "Alpha Psi" was chosen to honor the original Psi since the old name was taken.
