pledge bible studies?
by: PNMSo first some background, neither of my parents are very religious so I've never gone to church. I am very spiritual but still deciding what most aligns with my relationship to God. I've read some sororities have pledge bible studies- I was wondering which ones and if they were mandatory? I just don't want to be embarrassed by not knowing any of the stories or prayers or anything. Thank you!

I'm going to be a New Member Educator for my sorority this fall. I completely understand your hesitation towards bible studies, especially considering that you were not brought up in that culture. Regardless of what organization you pledge, please never feel like you're unwelcome or feel uncomfortable about coming to a pledge bible study! The purpose of these is genuinely to get to mingle with fraternity boys and to get to hear an inspirational/uplifting message from a campus religious organization. Even if you aren't religious, there is still something for you to take away from these gatherings! There aren't prayers said that you would need to memorized! The only useful information would be that when someone says "let's pray," you just close your eyes. Hope this puts you at ease!
