Hi Ole Miss Sororities! I need some help. I am not a member of a sorority nor am I seeking to be in one, but I have a sponsorship opportunity for whoever wants a great resume builder and a chance to shine amongst other sororities. I was told to ask to speak with a Panhellenic Council Member and I was hoping someone could help me find a member to present this opportunity to. If any one knows who I need to contact or what website to visit please let me know!

I'm from Chicago and only know my roommate. I'm trying to get as many recs as possibly and it is very hard. I met tri-delts when I visited and they were so nice, but I heard it was hard to get in if your from out of state. Is it like that for all sororities?

Yes it is harder to get into the traditionally MS sororities! Not impossible just harder! If anyone tells you different they are not telling you straight. This makes these sororities be like high school extended because everyone knows everyones business and are from the same cities ad it is based on who you or your parents know. I am not bashing these sororities because lots of girls want that comfort level and they are such a legacy to their mothers that it is a good fit! But the truth is yes it is harder. If you fall in love with one of these sororities than go for it get out there and get to know as many MS freshman as you can and hang with them because they will introduce to older girls from their home towns and keep yourself classy and outgoing. This will get your name out more for rush. Good Luck and have fun remember keep an open mind every sorority is great!!

Really? No girl from Chicago with no legacies who is having trouble getting recs is EVER getting into DDD, KD, DG or XO. Facts. Don't sugar-coat it.

Maybe those sororities won't take her but there are 5 great sororities left who are obviously more accepting and want to broaden their horizons beyond the same old same old!!! At least you let Help know not to waste her time on certain sororities- good luck to help I look forward to meeting you at Rush!

My overall GPA was a 2.96 but my last semester was a 3.56 I went to a high school that is overall rated top 10 in the country. Were a blue ribbon school and I am from a wonderful area. My GPA sounds low, but the curriculum is insane. I swear I am not uneducated! I don't want to be cut just because of my GPA. Can I do anything about it?

Unfortunately there is not much you can do- if you know some girls in the sororities they maybe able to help you avoid being cut due to your GPA if not be prepared to be cut from some houses. There are alot of houses here who make their first cut bases on any GPA below a 3.0. With around 1,000 girls going out they do not have the time to see what courses each girl took in high school. However you will get invited back to some houses you just won't be able to be selective. Please don't be discouraged b/c each house here is GREAT! Just be yourself and you will be able to find a house that you will love!
