This site (for Ole Miss) had kinda settled down for a week or two and had rational discourse. But given the tiniest opportunity the claws will come out and its a full-blown, old south catfight. If you are soooooo "classy", knock it off and get out of the litter box! AND just to balance out the comments, the best is in the middle. Hows that? Petty enough?

this website when searching sororities on the web. The remarks made about almost all of the groups are rude. Ole Miss has always been known to have a competitive Greek system but some remarks carry things too far. Bravo to the real top chapters for not playing the ranking game ... Chi O, Tri Delt, DG, and KD!

You are correct about rude. However, EACH AND EVERY GROUP has had thier "less than stellar" moments over the past months. AND they have ALL, yes ALL, self-ranked. You, however, have come aboard with a candy coated method of getting in one more jab at announcing who YOU believe to be in the "Top Chapters". How nice of you. Go back through the history on this site and you'll see just how they've all acted.

I don't think it's so much about ranks, but more about who is the most similar. Regardless of which houses you think are the best/worst/whatever, Kappa, Phi Mu, AOPi, Theta, Pi Phi are grouped more together and XO, DDD, KD, DG are grouped more together. It's not that everyone thinks XO, DDD, KD, DG are the top 4, although many do, but the traditionally go together at Ole Miss while the other 5 go together. That doesn't mean all of them in the groups are similar, but probably rush more of the same girls. I think the list looks right in that the current top 5 and bottom 4 should be together. It's funny actually, the top 5 are in the correct order, while the bottom 4 is upside down.

1.) Look, you are doing it too! YOU call it "grouping", but by grouping you give your view about tiers. Also, YOUR "top group" has not only self-ranked itself to the top, but also bashed the others heinously. Have they paused for a minute? I HOPE SO! Look at the numbers for KD and DG. At one time, as thier numbers (as well as DDD) went up, PBP and KKG would go down. Sweet of you to try to "bless my heart" with a kinder and gentler explanation, but its the same attitude. We (and I do mean WE) old-timers merely can acknowledge that yes, XO, DDD, KD and DG have traditionally been very popular. BUT if you are honest with yourself, some of the others, particularly PBP and KKG, cannot be ignored. Sadly, thats one of the reasons they get bashed on this site. Yes, if you're and old-timer please keep sending your daughters and grand daughters to the triangle club. BUT, just because that happens, doesn't mean everyone else at this growing university agrees!

I'm sorry but I've never really thought of Kappa or Phi mu as being grouped with AOPi or Theta. Pi Phi may cross rush with them a bit, but I know more girls who prefed DG, Phi Mu, or Kappa honestly. Most people I know group it as this:
DDD, KD, XO
DG, Phi Mu, KKG
Pi Phi, AOPi, Theta
It goes top, mid, bottom.
#160 by: Not tiers, Numbers.
1.XO
2.DDD
3.KD
4.DG
5.Phi Mu
6.Kappa
7.Pi Phi
8.AOPi
9.Theta
You can split the tiers where ever your personal preference is, but that's the order that's been at Ole Miss for years and even though middle and bottom houses get better, they still don't pass the established top.
