sorority comments

At the top academic schools in the south - Duke, Virginia, William & Mary, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Emory, Tulane, Texas, the top sororities are Pi Phi, Kappa, Theta, Tri Delt, & Chi Omega.

can someone please define snap bid for me. i think i get it but i want to be sure. thanks !

After formal rush is complete, if a sorority doesn't make their quota, then in order to complete their quota, they may ask a girl who did not make it during rush or did not even go through. This is called a "Snap bid". The state of the economy can also call for snap bids if, say for example, a young lady pledges and then later cannot afford it. At one time or another, whether they acknowledge it or not, all sororities hand out "snap bids". This page has been SOOO civi over the past days, I hope this was a sincere question, and not designed to attempt to embarass any sorority.

If a sorority makes quota and is over campus total, they cannot give out a snap bid ... So saying that all sororities do is not correct.

all sororities COULD have a year that it happens. if you make quota you don't snap bid, if something happens one year and a few girls pick somewhere else and you thought you had them, the house might snap bid a couple girls to get quota.

...that the 4 houses that are generally considered the top 4 by most people are at the bottom of this list while the ones that fight for the better spots behind them are at the top. Lot's of all 5's on some boards. I like how some groups don't have to inflate themselves to stay up on a website, shows their confidence and class.

Idk who you are, but you are so right. I wish we could eliminate the tiers altogether. All 9 chapters are amazing and have something to offer every girl.

at this present moment in time, Phi Mu has taken the number one spot... Which isn't a bad thing, but I would seriously rather it still be Kappa... The number one spot always gets the most hate, and I don't want it to go to Phi Mu. So Kappa's need to get back on here and do some more self-ranking.
