costs per house?
by: Sisters on Sunday!Hey y'all! Question: On the Ole Miss site, it says the average cost of sorority dues is $350/month. I know it can be awkward to talk about money... can anyone tell me (with real info - not just hearsay) if costs are a big difference between the top houses? I'm having a great time, but I've heard some cost WAY MORE than others. I'm not rich but also don't want to pick my final 2 based on finances, you know? HELP PLEASE! True or just rumors???
#2by: Nope
Sororities are priced differently. Greek Day was the time to ask this question really. You can find the prices for each sorority from last year on the Ole Miss Panhellenic Facebook page. The prices will be a little different from this year but in the same ball park, what I have found is that they are cheaper than last year (the price goes down after your first semester too so don't freak out). To find the prices, go to photo albums and you'll see them.
#3by: Dues.
You can't really look at dues alone. You have to look meals and house fees and new member fees and initiation fees and badge fees and social fees, etc. it's really hard to compare sororities when each sorority states their dues and fees differently. By the time it is all said and done you are looking upwards of $6,000 you first year.
Don't forget tshirts and other swag is billed separately. Last year I purchased close to 20 tshirts......
Once you are an active you also have to figure in swap and date party outfits and big/little gifts.
Sororities are not for girls who struggle financially.
