sae and no pledgeship
by: SAE legacyIs SAE worth joining now that there isn't a pledgeship? I know their nationals banned pledgeship... But maybe its different at Ole Miss. I don't want people to disrespect me because I didn't go through pledgeship.

Think about this. Your friends from HS will all have pledged somewhere and had that rite of passage but you won't. It's not even like sig ep where there is some sort of hierarchy by age. with SAE you have 72 hours and then you are initiated. so you really will have nothing in common with your friends back home or with friends that pledges other places. Not to mention while you may not be a bad kid the kids in you initiate class, or whatever they call that now, will likely be slackers.

Being in a fraternity, any of them, isn't what it used to be. The whole system is too big, too tired, too overplayed.
SAEs pledging a few less guys is not a bad thing. They may actually get to know the guys in their chapter. But the ramifications of being associated with a fraternity known for hazing is not something anyone should want. Ask Sig Ep.

I think ^Ok was being sarcastic. It's true KA pledgeship is virtually nonexistent. Pretty much a cake walk for soft high school boys.
