nervous!!
by: scaredAs recruitment gets closer I can't help but to think about getting dropped from all the sororities. My GPA is above a 3.0 I have all of my recs but I don't know anyone. Any advice to help me keep from being dropped??

Best advice anyone can give you is to relax! Yes, some girls do get dropped completely, but those are usually special cases like grade or standard risks. Unless you are totally and completely beyond help socially, you will do just fine! Keep your options open.
- Do not go out your first few weeks and get fall down drunk! We will find out! I promise!
- Do not hang out with older guys. Stick with freshmen. You never know who those boys may "belong to". We don't like freshmen hitting on our boyfriends.
- Do not bash sororities are are not interested in.
- Do not show favoritism to any sorority. Others will drop you like a hot potato if they think you will be happier in another house.

la^^ that's 100% accurate/the truth! relax! you're almost like 99.99999% sure that you're guaranteed to get in A sorority on bid day if you have at least a 3.0 GPA and if you have at least one rec for each sorority...now, granted, it might not necessarily be THE EXACT sorority you wanted to get in, but look at you - you're in a sorority! it's very, very rare for anyone to get dropped COMPLETELY (i.e., from every single house) if she has at least a 3.0 and has her recs.
and more importanly, above EVERYTHING else i can think of to suggest sorority-wise...if you don't get in the sorority you were dying to be in when bid day gets there, but you do get into a different one...GIVE. IT. A. TRY.! accept your bid, put a smile on your face, and just TRY it out for at least a couple weeks. if you're miserable beyond imagination, then fine, drop the sorority. if you do decide to drop, no harm, no foul is done. but the important thing is that you at least give it a shot and see what it's actually like to be in that sorority before you give up on it and go into quitter/sore loser mode. you never know what you're gonna miss out on!
