i wanna get a house):
by: WorriedI'm OOS (Iowa) and so excited to come down south and attend ole miss! But I won't know anyone and I wonder if this will make it impossible for me to get a house. I have a 3.0, lots of varsity sports, lots of clubs, awards, volenteering and a active member of NSHSS. I can get recs and I am decently pretty and outgoing and fun. I love everything about the idea greek life and would be perfectly happy in theta or any house. Will I make it in?
#1by: Of course!
There are about 4 sororities that are predominantly know as being southern houses. The rest do take girls from the north
Without knowing anyone, your best bets will be pi phi, aopi, theta, and ADPi. Phi mu and kappa will be maybes. The others are going to be iffy, but not totally impossible.
Go in with an open kind and you will do great.
Even theta will drop you if you appear to be a standards risk. Watch yourself until after recruitment.

I totally agree with the above poster about your best shot. It (for once) isn't biased or hateful, and Kappa And Phi Mu are definitely more difficult to get asked back to then most think. Getting to know girls in your class/from mutual friends is your best bet to increase your chances because while you look good on paper they need something to remember you by. Best of luck!!

Don't be worried! Your best shots will be pi phi, aopi, theta, and ADPi. They have lower return rates during rush and get to invite more girls back to subsequent rounds. That way they can get to know you during rush better.
The top three have high return rates and are forced to cut a lot if girls early. Kappa and phi mu are in the middle. Maybe, maybe not..... But below comment is correct. Phi mu and kappa are not as easy as one would think.
You will most likely end up in a house as the girls who are completely cut are usually grade or standards risks.
