by: PNMIf i know i don't have a chance at a top tier sorority (I'm OOS, and won't know anyone at ole miss when i come here) is it even worth finding rec's for them?

Get them for all, because if an alum in a top house thinks you've already ruled out certain houses, she might think you have a big ego... Alums will ask who you've secured recs for, you never know if her sister or mom were in the house you are snubbing your nose at.

Guess you are selling yourself short, way to shoot for the middle. If you don't get recs for ALL houses, the point is that you are limiting your options. If you don't want the recs fine, but people might read into it, and alums on your area do gossip, not just among their own sorority. But if you think you know better, have fun!

Get a rec for every house!!!!! You never know what will happen during rush! You might meet an active in your history class who falls in love with you and wants you in her sorority! If you don't have a rec on file, there will be nothing she can do to get you in he house. Get Recs even if you don't think you will like the house. You might find yourself with only one house left on pref day and national policy might prevent them from giving you a bid.

How would ruling out top houses because I have a almost no chance of getting in make it seem like I have a big ego??
