Not trying to be rude but it is fair to say Jackson mississippi is not a wealthy community at all. If you don't believe me just go look up realestate prices. The most expensive property is a little over a million where in other cities that is about the cheapest you can get. So to say certain houses are all Jackson is not something to brag about...

Oh god, another idiot! You know nothing! Did you know that over 50% of the entire student body is from out of state? Not everybody in Mississippi is fortunate enough to go to college. Those that are come from wealthy families. Some students work their butts of to have the privilege to attend college, and to those we salute, but you won't find those students in a fraternity or sorority.

Take your narrow minded self else ware. We are all working hard to better ourselves and an ole miss education is respected just about anywhere.

With the possible exception of LA or New York, where is the cheapest housing priced at a million dollars?

I am a real estate major and I can tell you that you are wrong. In the northeast the medium house price is $240,000. In the Midwest you are looking at $157,000. In the south the medium is $173,000. And in the west it is around $280,000. Don't let the cost of homes fool you, in the more expensive areas, the cost of living is also more expensive.

Quit picking on Jackson. Our families are doing just fine. Go crawl back to your home under a rock.

You're obviously not a good real estate major, ESPECIALLY when you categorize housing value by region, because prices in upstate new york are obviously going to be lower than connecticut. Look at this site and click "valuation" and you'll see that MS is one of the worst places in the country for real estate value.

Yeah @stupid that's really misleading because Georgia and Florida are different than Bama and mississippi in terms of prices.

What difference does real estate in any city matter as to greek life. Shallow website with even more vacuous threads.

First of all I tried to keep my example simple because this is a greekrank website and not a real estate website.

Second of all who really cares about the difference between up state New York and Connecticut? We live in the south and those students coming from that far north are kinda weird anyhow.

Third, Mississippi may be an poor state, but ole miss and it's Greek community are rich and spoiled children of wealthy Americans. You can't judge a school based on its location when the majority of students are coming from out of state.

And finally, yes I meant median (as in the mean, median, mode ranges). Good luck in finding that husband honey.

Rich?? Are you serious? The real rich kids in America go to private universities. Rich parents don't let their kids go to Ole miss, unless they really didn't have a choice. I like our school and all, but let's not kid ourselves. Nobody here is "spoiled", they just think they are because they don't know anything else.

Who the fu.k cares. It is nobody business nor is it important who has or has no money. Your comments are rude as polite society does not talk about money. What does it matter and why are you so hell bent on pointing it out?

I might agree that the Jackson girls get treated a little better during rush, and have an easier time getting into certain sororities, I might also agree that the Jackson girls are no where near as wealthy as some of the other girls coming through from other states. It's not fair for you to generalize all sorority girls as being poor. \n\n\n\n\n

This is the complete truth. Saying DDD is a "rich house with girls from Jackson" is hilarious. And if you don't believe me go on to realestate listings. To get a house in a nice section in Cities in Atlanta,Houston and what not those houses are roughly around 10 million. Where as for Jackson the most expensive house is 2million. Nothing wrong with it but I wouldn't go calling jackson wealthy.
