Member class numbers

Hi mom it’s not 1985. A lot has changed and they aren’t trying to all know each other. They form strong friendships and have strong big little relationships because of the size of the houses. They have amazing houses because of the numbers. They have more to spend on sisterhood events and more to donate to the philanthropy because of the numbers. These chapters are respected by nationals because of the numbers. Greek life is available to more because of the numbers and Ole Miss will continue to grow and flourish because of the numbers-girls won’t come or stay here if they get dropped from recruitment. Your Alma mater thrives because of these numbers.

The point of recruitment is to find every one that wants to be in greek life a place. And yes even those girls that pay tens of thousands more than your daughter from Jackson want and deserve the Greek life experience. It is so longer about cutting to be “top” it is about sharing the pan sisterhood with all our college friends and making sure greek life thrives for decades going forward

Congratulations to your daughter for choosing AOII. Most of what is discussed on here is opinion and not based on facts or the lived experience.

My daughter is an OOS AOII. She LOVES IT. She has found her people. They have a great and supportive friend group, but still love all their sisters. They work VERY HARD and started the recruitment process this year, even before the other chapters to make rush special for new PNMs.

The numbers listed below about Quotas are simply not true. One reason that they take more is based on their founding mission of inclusivity and diversity. They work hard to ensure as many as possible get to experience a great sisterhood and find their home at Ole Miss.

They truly have one of the most loyal sisterhoods. They also have demonstrated themselves with fundraising, philanthropy, and supporting campus activities.

I would encourage your daughter to stay connected with her bid-day buddy and “big”, once assigned. She will be supported. I would say the point of being in a sorority

Know your daughter was very much wanted at AOII and will have a great experience with women who want to help her succeed, not work against her—something that is true for most every other house at Ole Miss. She will have a home base and be able to find others with shared values.

That is NOT what Quota Additions are. Quota Additions are strictly for placing the PNM's who ranked both their houses but didn't make the cut off for either one during bid matching. This is how PNM's are guaranteed a bid for ranking both their pref houses; they are placed in one of their pref houses even when it puts a house over quota. Quota Additions ARE NOT for getting a house up to Total.

Total is set AFTER the bid matching and quota addition process is completed. The only method used to get a house up to Total is COB.

This is correct. Quota Additions have nothing to do with getting to total. The downvotes are from the stupid moms and some trolls. If a house wants to get up to total they offer COB after bids are distributed and opened.
