legacy
by: LegacyI'm a double legacy (grandmother and mom) of a good sorority at Ole Miss. My mom and grandmother didn't go here. Should I be worried about my chances of getting in? I know I should keep an open mind during recruitment, but I want to keep the family tradition alive!

You should be worried, especially if you do not know anyone in that house. I was a triple legacy and got cut after the first round. However. I still ended up in a great sorority. Even better than my legacy house. If it is that important to you. Networking is the only was you will get in.

Above poster is right. Do you know any actives in the house? That will be key. Last year my sorority had over 80 legacies coming through rush. Those that were not ole miss alumni legacies, who didn't know anyone in the house, got released after the first round. There are only so many spots.
Pnm's. Please do not chose a house based on your families traditions. You might be disappointed. Every chapter of different and you don't want to be stuck on a house filled with girls you have nothing in common with.

Xo took some questionable legacies last year. So did most of the other houses. If you are from Jackson or Memphis or some other big city in Mississippi or Tennessee you should do fine.
If your mom or grandmother are involved in local alumni chapters you should also be good to go.
The key is networking and pulling out all the relationship connections you can find. This is ole miss and our rush is different then any other rush in the country. It's pretty close to elitism.

How do the guys winnow it down if they don't have a quota like the girls do?
Do they have self imposed limits of like 70 or 90 pledges?
