top 300 or so girls

PNM's: the top sororities have already put their lists together. Their slide shows are done. This is especially true for DDD, KD, and XO. These top sororities each have a list of about 300 girls that they will take all the way to pref. their lists are VERY similar and for the most part it is the same top girls. You get on these lists by having connections within the houses. If you don't know anyone in these houses, you are not on their lists and you are not on their slide shows. There are only so many girls that they have time to look at. If they meet you over the summer or in the first few weeks of classes and really like you, they will add you to their list. If they don't meet you until rush, you will REALLY NEED TO BE EXCEPTIONAL!

For the girls who don't have connections with the top three houses, the mid tier houses also already have their lists done, but their lists are larger because their cuts don't have to be as heavy for the first few rounds. It is easier for amazing girls with no connections to get bids to these mid tier houses. Still great sororities.

Bottom tier houses have much more fluid lists. They will not start ranking until after the first round when they get a feeling for the girls who don't cut them early. Pretty much if you have all the usual qualifications you will get a bid, even if you are from out of state.
