sororities

have a few questions!
1. If i am a legacy for a top house, (i live in ms) what good does that do for me?
And will other houses see that im a legacy for a different house and think im more interested in my legacy house and not as interested in them?
2. How much involvement do sophomores have in the recruitment process? Since its their first time on the other side of rush and theyre still "underclassmen" do they have the same amount of say so as juniors and seniors?
3. Im still in high school and I know youre not supposed to wear anything with any sorority name/letters on it anytime before you you get into a sorority. But my brother is in a fraternity and i was wondering if it was bad if i wore one of his fraternity tshirts?

We are not really supposed to talk about voting procedures, so there is no way you will get an honest answer. Also, every house is different. But generally:
1. Legacy status will certainly help you. Yes other houses might cut you if they think they don't have a shot. It's nothing personal, they just don't want to waste a precious spot on somebody who in the end wound except a bid. If your legacy status is from your grandmother, aunt or cousins, those don't really count. We only care about legacies who's moms or sisters attended ole miss.
2, sophomores have all the power during rush. They are not the ones ordering the lists, but they are the ones who vote yes or no. With the exception of the recruitment team and officers, you probably won't even see any juniors or seniors there unless they are involved in the skit, and even then, they don't rank or vote.
3. It's okay to wear fraternity letters, but you would be shooting yourself in the foot if you wear sorority letters. The sorority who's letters you are wearing will be offended and not give you a bid. And the other houses will pass as well because they will think you have your heart set in another house.

you cant just say a girl doesn't count as a legacy b.c its her grandmother, or because their relative went to another school. That's national's rules. ANY type of legacy you get has to be invited back at least one found and if you pref them you HAVE to give them a bid. If i see girls who are legacy's not get invited back after the first day there will be a call to nationals.
