worried about gpa
by: PNMI have a highcool GPA of 2.8 but LOTS of extracurricular activity's, varsity sports, and volunteering, along with AP classes on my transcript and a good ACT score. Can i still get into a sorority here??? PLZ HELPP.
#1by: Maybe
You will have problems with top tier, but you might still have a chance with a few of the others. Hope you know girls in the houses who would be willing to fight for you. All your gpa says is that you don't care about grades. That will hurt you because we all compete to see who gets the highest gaps.
#2by: honestly
2.8 is the cut off point for several sororities. They really don't care what your GPA is as long as its above what is required for them to invite you back, if it is under that there's absolutely nothing they can do. It really is all about who you know. Connections are a must, even for lower tier houses. The only house that you have a chance at with no connection at all is Theta or ADPi
#3by: Well......
Just trying to keep it real here. If you go through Ole Miss rush not knowing anyone and a grade risk you really need to be prepared to accept a bid from any house that gives it to you. Literally a thousand other girls already have friends and better grades so you're not going to get fought over. You're the kind of PNM that's easy to cut because no one knows your name and no one will be calling us to complain about it. Don't take it personally, we could love your personality when we talk to you but you won't last compared to other PNMs.

We will meet a girl and fall in love with her. After getting to know her our hearts always break when we find out her gpa is below a 3.0 because there is very little we will be able to do for her. Most girls will gpas below a 3.0 will be automatically cut after the first or second round if she is lucky. Some get by because of alumni pull, or famous daddies, or because they are super fun, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
