What is filler?

by:

MS moms (not all but most of them) refer to their OOS members as filler. It became a thing when Ole Miss changed from an all in-state school to one with a high percent coming from out of state. It’s an endearing term for girls they haven’t known since birth that they need in the chapter to keep dues coming in and to compete with other houses that have always welcomed OOS girls because let’s face it not all the MS legacies are beauty queens and Sigma Chi, Sigma Nu, KA and Phi Delt started to notice.

Recently they started adding exec from out of state but the advisors and alums from in state call the shots. They started with specific areas (like highland park) because they assumed that everyone from there had money and came from a good family. If you don’t come from what they consider a feeder zip code or area you aren’t on their radar even if the girl you talked to from near your town was super nice during the round-she doesn’t have the pull to get you on the list. If you are OOS or OOR and were not rushed in the spring and summer through private events, group chats, other pnms with house ties reaching out to you-you aren’t on the radar. You most likely won’t last to pref.

This simply means that those chapters are uptight, bigoted, classist narcissists.

Good chapters choose members because they are social, intelligent, are financially responsible and bring a positive vibe to the house.
