Impact of Early Recruitment
by: Crystal BallWith recruitment being so early this year, will we see more girls leave Ole Miss if they don’t get the house they want?

It did used to be that way. I hope this school and Greeklife don't regress back to that. With legacy policies being eliminated for many nationals as well as rec requirements loosening up, pnm's now have to stand more on their own personal merits to be asked back to houses. If you're not here for a degree and only to nail down a certain set of letters, then good riddance to you and less embarrassment for this school. The 'right house or leave' mentality starts with the moms, so who needs them. And the alums' grip on certain houses has begun to slip too. We will get the popcorn ready and see what happens.

Is this just a one-time thing? The whole point of moving recruitment back in the first place was that the school was losing money.
When State did variable quota a few years ago, the administration was so shook about the number of withdrawals that they considered moving recruitment to the first week of school.

Maybe Glenn Boyce isn't concerned about it. He wasn't here during those times right after rush. When the U-Hauls were pulling up in the dorm parking lots and the daddies were moving their girls back home after failing to secure the right bid.
