out of state guy

Hey I am from Out of State and I am thinking about going to Ole Miss next year... My sister goes to Alabama and is in a good sorority down there. She told me greek life is different at UA than at Ole Miss, especially for guys. She had trouble getting into sororities since we are from MA and she had a 3.8 GPA.
Will I have the same issue at Ole Miss with the fraternities? I grew up in TX and lived there for 8 years... So I get the whole North/South thing.
