The only time a pnm's ranking can actually make a difference is their ranking after prefs.

Can we go back to when girls got dropped after pref? It’s not exactly fair to the houses that quota additions mean girls get a house that ranked them bottom.

No, cross cutting was cruel to both sororities and pnm's. A lot of great pnm's ended up with no house due to that kind of bid mismatching. Between their #1 or #2 house a lot of pnm's would have been so happy to get a bid from either house, and the houses would have loved to bid them, but quota was quota and that was that. It sucked.
