I agree with the OP. I have favorites and ones I can't stand. Everyone wants different qualities in the sorority they join so to rank is retarded because our needs and wants are completely different. I would just add pi phi to the faves list and I feel the same.

Ranks and likes are not objective they are individually subjective. And you don't base who your friendships and who you like off of who their grandmothers are or the history of the group. You base it off personalities and how people make you feel, so the next post that ranks because of "history" will make me get sick.

Ranks are done according to which houses impress the most girls. They are the houses that girls want to join. They are the houses that have to make the deepest cuts during recruitment and disappoint the most girls when the cuts are made. We really don't care which groups were popular when our grandmothers came to Ole Miss. We care about who makes us feel special during rush, and lets face it, the top houses put on the best rush events. But lets not discount the middle three houses who are equally as popular and amazing!

Where do you get this information to base your ranks then? You have absolutely no idea how many girls are disappointed. Panhellenic does not release info on cuts,so you only know your own sororities numbers.and you do realize that yes alot of girls may be impressed or comfortable in a "lower" tier sorority and pick them for this reason not as a last choice. So if all pledge classes are the same size then each sorority impressed an equal amount, is all the numerical info you will ever truthfully have.

I agree with OP too. My rank isn't based on 3 rush parties where it is girls jobs to be fake. My ranking and favorites are based on the other 360 days of the year when the girls are just being their true selves and not trying to "impress" that's when the claws come out. I'm not putting my ranking on here because I don't need validation from anonymous strangers, but I assure you it would look nothing like the one the "top tier" would have you believe.

Xo and KD are both moving down. I have no tolerance for either sorority. I don't know why KD was ever considered a top sorority anyway. Half the girls they wanted chose kappa over them. Hurts to see top girls who pref both houses chose a mid tier over them. Times are changing!

I actually agree with "love". One of the first posts on this site I can say that for.

Rankings are very personal and also vary greatly if you ask a freshman in Martin or a senior who actually has relationships and friends in multiple sororities. If a senior is truly honest they will have girls they like and dislike in each one and ranking becomes a gray area. They know there is always at least one other sorority they could have been happy in too and one they wouldn't have been happy. It is easy to tell a clueless freshman when they post terms like "everybody" "100%" "this is the truth" " how is always will be". You are not everybody, you only know how about 30 girls in Martin or from your hometown feel not 1300 pnms going thru rush. I have seen lots of change in the past 4 years and yes like it or not there are shifts in the status quo. Not dramatic shifts but yes changes with each pledge class and those gradual changes add up. You can pretty much bet that if a post has the same rankings that have preached for decades, it was posted by a freshman in the sorority they put 1st. One day they will understand that sorority ranking is very personal and it is okay when people don't agree.

When someone puts the top 2 houses as her "least favorites" and the 3rd (maybe still 3rd) as a "favorite' she pretty much gives her letters away.
There is a place on campus for most that want to be open-minded and not everyone cares who is top of the list, but the ones ranked 3rd or 4th are the ones that show their insecurity. Enjoy your sisters and quit trying to bring others down.
