You do realize new students are surrounded by as many OOS as Mississippians at orientation. In-coming students would have almost no interaction with actually Ole Miss students. If you are going to troll - do better.

If you didn’t like orientation you should go somewhere that you feel more comfortable. People at OM are not rude or antisocial. Maybe snotty depending on how you define that-OM is pretty expensive when it comes to fashion etc.

I know a lot of friends that went to a lot of different schools and the ones that didn’t like it from day one transferred back home.

Parents will say a lot of things to try and convince you that you’ll find people but if you start negative you find negative people. And being surrounded by a lot of people that are happy and are having a wonderful experience only makes it worse. Best of luck to you. Sorry you had a bad time at orientation.

Maybe it's you. Perhaps you are a bit overbearing, insecure, or think a bit too highly of yourself and others pick up on that. Perhaps what you are used to in high school is not how we are in the South. Look inward and try to adapt before you blame a bunch of other people for your dissatisfaction. You need to be worthy of someone's acquaintance and friendship; it's not automatic.

lol oxford has extremely nice people and every time you go out you’ll make friends. it’s just a fun atmosphere.

Like most places you go you’ll get a few people who are graceful to be around and you’ll get people who are mean/rude and make you feel neglected.
