disadvantage
by: scaredSo if I can't attend spring parties because I don't know anyone and if I go into rush next year not knowing anyone in a sorority am I pretty much at a major disadvantage? And with average stats am I pretty much guaranteed to get dropped?

Not necessarily, but you are at a major disadvantage. You still have 6 weeks after school starts to get out there and meet girls. Pi Phi, AOPi, Theta, and ADPi all wait until after water parties to start making there lists. A girl on my floor got a bid to DDD and she didn't know anybody going into rush. But, she was by no means average, she was exceptional. Talk to your local alumni associations, maybe they can make some introductions.

A 3.5 is a good start. How many volunteer hours do you have, how many activities were you involved with, any leadership positions? Homecoming queen? Prom queen? Pageant queen? Debutant? Where is that 3.5 gpa from? Mississippi public school or Dallas private school? Makes a huge difference! We already know you don't come from Jackson or Memphis private school because you say you have no connections..... What makes you special?
