What exactly happened to theta?

All these posts saying the new theta etc. what actually happened to them?

theta had low recruitment numbers and a low percentage of girls who stayed through initiation for a long time. nationals didn’t like it and took away their charter. theta nationals have been closing a lot of chapters over the past few years to improve their image and ole miss was one of them.
