diff between snap bid and cob
by: ??#2by: Insider
COB happens what houses don’t meet their quota. This means that they will remain open to giving out bids through a specific period of time. Snap bids typically happen somewhere around bid day or a little after bid day and are when a house offers a freshman a bid to come and join the pledge class. Sometimes the girl receiving the bid may have been dropped from recruitment. COB usually happens in the spring semester after new pledges are initiated and fall numbers are finalized. If pledges or actives drop/ graduate early, then the house may no longer meet quota and look for new pledges. This can also happen after rush if they didn’t meet quota then.
