What is the point of getting recs if all you have to do is have your mom post on Facebook?

Because it “checks a box”. Having a rec ole miss alums is the best and is more valued. But any rec will check the box for having one

Then it is completely meaningless. Take away the recs being mandatory and only girls with actual connections will get them. Most alums writing FB recs don’t even know if the girl meets the standards of membership.
