odds at ddd?

hey!! i’m from mississippi & have a 4.0 gpa & pretty strong connections with girls in tri delt. i’m not a legacy tho. obviously, i’m not like dead set on ddd because i want to go into rush with an open mind; it’s just that all the girls that i already know at ole miss are tri delts, so i am the most familiar with them. but i just read a bunch of stuff on here that says that you have to be a legacy to get considered. is that true?

I’m from OOS, had no connections, and they were one of my groups at pref. Therefore, I would say you have a good shot if you have friends in there. They are a strong middle tier group.

Middle tier solid house so you’ll be fine. They used to be stronger so a better connection was necessary. Not so anymore.

Who's this crazy lady "hi", "yes", "sure".

First thing first, DDD is not even remotely mid tier. They are top tier. Sure they cut you. Sure they are rude. Sure you hate them. But that doesn't make them mid tier. They are top tier and most would say the #1 house.

Second, normally when the same person responds 3x in a row I'd say to wait a bit between your responses, it's a slow moving board. But the fact that you did and checked this 3x though out the day is concerning.

I’ll respond, but I’ve only posted once on this thread (the post about pref).

Mom, KD is #1. DDD is middle tier and maybe ranks 5th or 6th in terms of desirability, and that is fact. They are still a good house.

And I did get invited to pref with no connections at all to DDD (and that was after I didn’t rank them in my top 2 prior to pref—one of my top 2 cut me so I had DDD for pref along with my first choice). However I had a really good resume and strong recs.

DDD is mid tier. They have not had the pledge classes or campus presence as past years. You stand a good chance but are right to keep an open mind.

@LMAOOOOOOO- I posted once too so you were absolutely wrong. Also, I LOVE ddd and it would still be a choice for me but it’s a middle tier house now. Doesn’t matter really, PNMs should pick what they like and not what someone says is #1 on Greek rank
