in state - xo, kd, ddd
out of state but still from the south - kkg, dg
out of state, not southern - phi mu
of course, there are deviations, but this^ seems to be the most common

I would disagree... any girl would be lucky to get into any chapter at ole miss. They are all competitive in their own ways. Besides, if you’re from out of state, your views on each chapter will be different based on what’s good from where you’re from. Maybe that’s the MS view, but it’s not the same for everyone

When did top 6 become a thing?
And yes, there is a MS view, and yes there is a legacy view. It is a bit of a combo, but stating that a mississippi view doesn't exist isn't quite accurate. The MS view won't hold KD and Kappa, on the same level. It just won't no matter how much you try and make "top 6" a thing.

there is no MS view
xo and ddd are super legacy based. unless you are legacy your chances are essentially none.
kd is legacy based but they are a little more hometown favs. it's not jackson girls. they have a few small home towns they like.
kkg, dg, phimu are all preference. legacy helps, but it's what the girl is into.

post of rush is to get everyone a bid. unless you are a gpa risk or have huge red flags (which maybe 1-2 girls a year have)...as long as you half way try you'll get a bid.
Should you be happy you got a bid? yes.
Should you consider yourself lucky? no.
