Basic and true!!!!
by: Real real realOle miss is psycho about Greek life. Like many south schools the rankings are hard to say because different people base it off of different things. Southern royalty, money, looks, grades, legacy status, ect. The most important thing to know is that competitiveness vs desire is extremely different here. The most competitive houses are not most desired. And the most desired houses are not the most competitive (just my opinion). Pretty much all you need to know is KD, Tri delt, Chi O, and Delta gamma are the “top”. Keep in mind many KDs and Chi Os are known as “unicorns” on campus bc they’re so “exclusive” and have high expectations. Up to you how you value going out and partying. Then there is Kappa and Phi Mu which are really desired, very well liked and social, and also have the high ranking “name” many girls look for. They take like 1/4 out of state girls so it is not impossible, but challenging. Pi phi and alpha phi are similar just a small step below. They are “bottom” houses, but can still manage. The rest of the houses are what you should steer clear of if you care about popularity. Hope this helps.

THIS IS (almost) SPOT ON!! After their hazing incident & probation fall semester, I wouldn’t consider DG to be on the same level as “the Ole Miss holy trinity” (what my friends and I call KD, Chi O, and Tri Delt). DG falls somewhere between the top 3 and Phi Mu & Kappa.
I might be completely wrong here, but I never thought Chi O was that exclusive. Yes, they are definitely top tier and mainly take rich, southern girls, but most of the other houses have that bias too. The only house I thought was majorly exclusive during rush was KD.
While the ones you didn’t name, ADPi and AOPi, are not as popular on campus, most of the girls that I’ve met from those sororities are nicer than ones I’ve met from A Phi. No hate towards Alpha Phi as a sorority, I just had a lot of classes with Alpha Phi’s and all the ones that I interacted with seemed like the stereotypical popular mean girls. Every sorority has girls like that, though, so maybe I just haven’t met the good A Phi’s yet!!
