I don't think KA's best pledge class necessarily makes them top, I think that's their best asset, and it almost ends there. If they're actually above Sigma Chi, maybe.. But only because EX is on probation.

Well that's super awkward, since I'm the one who posted the original "Sorority" comment and you just pretended to be me. I did mean to post KD (but the 3rd one, darling) but if you wanted to point that out, you could have said "oops, I think Sorority meant to put KD instead of DDD twice!" Now you just look crazy, posing as someone you aren't online. Everyone look out: there's a KD willing to pretend to be anyone to boost them up on here!

Absolutely not. Pi Phi Theta and ADPi are bottom. Plus even though ADPi has rushed a lot of girls this year. They are not very classy ladies. Self ranker.

ok just from what i saw in rush and from the experiences thus far of my roommate and floormates:
kd/ddd/xo
dg
kappa/phi mu
aopi/piphi
theta
adpi (b/c they're new)
from what i understand, thats the way its always been, and it doesn't look like it's going to change any time soon because this is ole miss.
no matter the tier though i had friends that wanted almost every sorority from philanthropy. my kind of hipster friends from high school loved ddd and xo, my fun roomie loved kd, my best friends went phi mu and kappa (they have great philanthropy opportunities but still know how to have fun), a lot of girls on my floor talked about liking the legacy that dg has in oxford, and then the really chill/laid back girls on my floor loved pi phi and aopi (which i totally got their chill/down to earth vibe from rush so i can see that), and my neighbor was from the same hometown as a theta and loved how close her friend was with some of her sisters. and starting a colony like adpi is the chance of a lifetime.
honestly i dont see how you could go wrong no matter where you fall in the ranks.

Can someone please explain why exactly KD's always wind up on top? I will never understand why these girls think they can complete. They do nothing but put other houses down and self-rank. This year they didn't even complete with the other top two, they completed with the mid tier for PNM's. On pref night pretty much every girl there had already been cut by xo and ddd. DG's and Phi Mu, and even the Kappa's out bid them this year!

First of all it's competed, not completed.. Anyway, you make some good points but you can't really back them. There were many girls that went DDd or xo that were cut from kd. KD is the best for the same reason EX is sometimes considered the best. Neither really piss anyone off, and they're friendly as a whole. Niether are the best really at anything, or the best looking, but they seem to do everything right and are well liked.

they are top because they win things, they are highly desired during rush, they have a strong tradition and past at Ole Miss, they're a merit chapter, and they have alumni pouring money into the chapter out the wazooooo. also they are well liked by fraternities and know how to have fun.

Yes, I can back up my claim against KD. Their alum were on the phone all night during recruitment talking to alum of ddd and xo. If ddd or xo had a girl claimed, KD cut them. No way was KD going to have to resort to snap bids this year. To make sure snap bids didn't happen, the dropped all girls that ddd or xo had claims to. That way they were only completing with the middle tier. Great way to make sure they met quota, but they sure did pass on a lot of really great girls just because they were afraid of competing with the top houses. Obvi!

You know she is right! Alumnae get WAY too involved in choosing the pledge classes. Especially KD, XO, & DG. DDD somehow usually get to pick their girls, but their alumnae are still there in the back rooms communicating with the other sororities.
What do you think all the alumnae are doing in and around the houses during recruitment? Trust me, they are not sitting around doing nothing!

I would say Sigma Pi is closer to becoming lower middle tier than Beta they seem like they are heading in the right direction. Still not middle tier though
