Is it worth rushing
by: Worth rushing?Hey everyone I am going to OM in the fall and planning on rushing.. I’m from Florida, I have 3 recs for every sorority, 3.6 GPA, blonde, tan, skinny, but no connections or friends at OM. I have a great, easy going personality but will I have a chance of even getting a bid from a good sorority?

As an alumni of OM as well as one of the sororities, I would like to say that every sorority on campus is a good sorority. Getting a bid from any of them is something to celebrate. Rushing should be about finding your home among a group of girls who make you feel happy and like you belong. You shouldn’t put focus on where said sorority falls on a tier. With 3 recs, a good GPA, and honestly being yourself you have the chance to find your home in any of the wonderful houses on campus. I found my best friends in my sorority. And that’s what should be the focus.

So, I’m not really sure what your “stats” have to do with rushing at OM
1- this isn’t Alabama. We don’t care if you’re skinny, blonde, etc
2- as long as your gpa is fine (yours is), you act polite and be yourself, and you have your recs, you’ll be fine.
3- all houses at Ole Miss are good.

To the person saying I’m a troll, I haven’t committed to a college yet so I’m putting it on every college I got accepted to!! I am on disability scholarship and I am not required to commit until June. I am just weighing my options here. You guys are so quick to assume without knowing the full situation.

It's worth it if you're open to truly finding your home, not just wanting a certain house or tier. If you rush with limitations in place, you will be disappointed. If you rush with an open mind, you can have a good experience and find a home. I know many girls who "thought they had to have A, B or C" house only to be cut from them and then they pledged a house they never imagined - yet they love it.
