please stop middle tier

by: okay

So here is the deal: Girls who don't get a bid from Chi o, DDD, or KD (in no order) are lying when they say they got the house they wanted (unless they are a legacy). No girl honestly comes to Ole Miss and wants to be any of the others. It would be more accurate to explain it as if there are two rushes going on simultaneously. The first is for the top tier (Chi o, DDD, and KD) and then the second one for all the girls who got dropped from their top tier dream sororities and have had to settle for less. But good for them for putting a game face on and making the best out of it!
Also, the top tier sororities are top tiers for a reason and they proved that for each of their rounds of rush. Seriously the people saying phi mu/DG/Kappa are top tier.... Just stop already! Not everyone gets to be the best! You can just be there, like always.
And all of the out-of-state/MS girls stuff... It's no longer relevant! Just look at the actual numbers!

Lol you're actually delusional and the most narcissistic person if you think EVERY girl going through rush only wants those three. I came wanting pi phi and it's what I got and I have never been happier. Y'all are just so competitive that you literally get SO caught up in the name of your sorority that you would sacrifice your actual happiness just to have a "good" name. I have spoken with at least 40 girls who took top tier buds but already hate it because they didn't go where they were actually happy. Pull your head out of your ass and come to the realization that not everyone grew up being told what sorority to want and would rather transfer than not get it. You're all so ridiculous it hurts.

i'd say both of these posts are true (the original and the one above me). the top three put on a good rush so they ARE desired by mostly all pnm's until some get cut. also i know that all xo's love xo and all kd's eat breath drink love kd. the "40" girls you must be referring to are DDD's. most of the ones i know go for the name and then regret it later. i don't think it's about having a good name. i didn't go my sorority for the name.. i went because it's where i felt most at home. and a lot of girls who go top tier sororities feel that way esp. xo and kd's it seems. i even know DDD's who love their house though most don't and go for the name. so half of what both of yall are saying is true but half isn't

I posted this already on another thread with the same topic as this but......This is so not true!!!! Face it, not everyone likes the " top" houses!! I know PLENTY of girls who put them all in their bottom three after philanthropy because they did not lime them! especially girls doing that for DDD. I have nothing against DDD, I'm just saying what I know. Believe it or not, girls come to the school dying to be in DG, Phi Mu, and evenKappa! Sorry, but your top tier isn't as sought after as you think. I also know girls who listed these houses after Phi Mu and DG for pref. So yeah!

I agree with you, but despite what you're saying only a few tri delts I've talked to wanna drop, the majority have been kd's and a few others xo's. Beside the fact, it's very ignorant to say that girls only want to top 3

This has to be one of the most ignorant posts I have read. Not everyone wants to be in a back stabbing, fake top tier sorority. Several girls, including myself listed Chi O, DG and KD or Delta as bottom during rush. Sisterhood exist in several of the other sororities. Not every PNM "settled" for other houses, some of us actually had great schedules AND picked ANOTHER house. Several of us want to enjoy sorority life, get an education and not be constantly competing to be in the "popular" group. You need to grow the heck up. I wish you all the success in your house. If you are happy where you are there is no need to belittle or lambaste the other sororities. There are several above average, pretty and intelligent girls in all of the sororities, not just four of them. I know at least 2 girls upset about receiving a DG bid instead of another. You need to grow up.

Well, it is true for the majority going through, but girls who want to be happy love whatever house chose them. There's people that love, hate, and everything in between in all 9 houses.

I chose DDD, and have been on cloud nine since Sunday and no chance of coming down! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new sisters, I'm totally obsessed with my new house! Our swap last night was so much fun! No way do I regret my decison! YOU WILL NOT FIND ONE DDD WHO IS UNHAPPY WITH HER BID!!!!!

KD, Kappa, Phi Mu, and Chi O got the best girls this year. So Kappa and Phi Mu should be super pumped.

A joke? I knew the very first weekend I came to school that I wanted a house that is not one of the "top".... Lol please try to understand that there are so many out of state girls here that are from places so much better than Jackson, MS. Those girls did not impress me. I got my FIRST choice and could not be happier. Not only am I not at all jealous of girls that pledged a "top" house, I feel sorry that they chose their best friends for 4 years based on the reputation of the letters on their house. If they pledged there because they felt at home in those houses, good for them! But please get over yourself, not everyone is dying to get pledge a house full of girls from Jackson.
