What is the voting like in houses

I can only speak to my sorority of course but I expect the others to be the same or at least similar. There are no number of votes to get in or cut. Sororities receive your information and resumes before rush to get to know you. After rounds you will get scored and then scores are totaled for everyone and then sent to Panhellenic. There is an algorithm that is used to to determine who goes to the next round for each house, it is very complicated but I will try to keep it simple. Sororities can only ask a certain amount of girls back per round so if you are ranked high enough on their list, you will most likely always go back for the next round. If you are not high enough you will get cut. So lets say that you are high enough to pass the cut on all of the sororities lists, the ones that you rank the highest are the ones that you will go back to. If you are not high enough on all of the sororities that you ranked the highest, then you can go back to some houses that you ranked lower.

Our house creates a list of the top 200-300 girls we want before rush. These girls go towards top of the bid list (but under legacies) making them less likely to be cut (the group of PNMs closest to the bottom of the list each round are cut).

So, text all the people you know in houses to let them know you're coming beforehand, and GET RECS in so they know you're coming and can add you to the list if they're interested.

15-20% of PNMs will get cut from everything, or drop because they only have one or two undesirable houses left, get yourself prepared beforehand. Make friends IN the chapters, get your letters of rec in, and do it asap (our house was pretty much done with our list last year around mid-June).
