You cant opt out of additions. Panhellenic gives them to you based on how many girls you can still take in regard to chapter total, how many girls put you first, and how many girls other chapters will take. If top houses didn't get any its not because they were being exclusive.

Houses are told the # they have to cut each night by Panhellenic and subsequently the exact # they can have at pref. So no, they don't have control over it.

Don't mean that you "need" to take them. Like I said, it's also about how many girls put you first. Or sometimes if they can take more girls, but not always. Not getting extra girls doesn't make a chapter better.

^^^^^^ Thank you, Additions! Quota Additions are NOT a bad thing. It means that more girls WANTED to join those organizations than straight quota allowed.
Come on ladies, have some Panhellenic spirit. Do we really have to behave like 6 year olds who insist that they are "better" than other little girls? Help build each other UP... not knock each other down. Ole Miss has a strong sorority system. SUPPORT EACH OTHER!

Chi O took 119 - guess that was their quota. Glad all the houses fared so well! Theta can take their great new group and build their house up even more. And thank goodness Ole Miss supports additions - it's harsh to cut girls who make it to pref and then don't have a home. Shouldn't happen if it can be worked out.

I went another "top tier" house, but had friends who chose KD over my house and another top house. Ya'll quit judging. All our houses are great.

Quota is exactly the SAME for EVERY house. It was 117 this year. Houses that took more girls got quota addition. QAs are girls that wanted to join that particular house and were added ABOVE quota to accomodate the most girls possible. They never know that they were added. It makes NO difference. They get a regular bid like everyone else.

I understand what a quota addition is, I was just saying that someone who should know, told me quota was 112 and every chapter made quota and got quota additions. I was just wondering if it was 112 or 117, thinking the 7 could have been a typo. You don't have to try to make me look dumb. Honestly, I know how the system works, just wanted clarification on the number.

If the top houses took fewer back to pref parties then as a result there would be fewer girls for quota addition ... so in a sense they did have a little control over it
