to point out on the other post, these numbers are not reflections of what sororities do. Some sororities classify money for charity as money into their philanthropy. Some count that as money donated to a cause outside of their philanthropy. And some didn't report WHICH DOESN'T MEAN THEY HAD NONE OR THAT "DADDY PAID IT OFF." I have no idea what sororities count as involved in the University, but I know Theta's that don't do anything other than Theta and they have 100%, and I know TONS of AOPI's from campus involvement and they listed 40%. I think the only CONCRETE reflection of each chapter was that of GPA and size. This is just girls in lower houses who are trying really hard to make the top look no different than them.

Call it subjective if it helps you deal with it but that is what the school reports sorry if it hurts your feelings.

doesn't matter if that is what the school reports. Where does one get this information? The actives have to report it to the sorority. Well...what if someone doesn't report it or fill out the survey? Then that person doesn't go into the calculation.

Additionally, $ for charity can be counted differently for every sorority.

If they laid out rules for how this is supposed to be done, it'd be more useful.

DG is in the top 5 chapters nationally to donate the most funds for their philanthropy, so that $8,000 # is not how much they did for Service for Sight. I think girls are trying to use these #s to make certain groups look bad, especially if they didn't report a #, and that's not right.

That is the number they reported so nobodies fault but their own for how it looks. The same girls report their grades too. Its all self reported, so if you believe one number you need to believe them all. Can't pick and choose.

you sure it's all self-reported? I'm pretty sure the grades are not self-reported, and that they come from the school...also the # of actives is obvious to the school too.

Obviously you have never held an executive office in your sorority. Even grades are self reported no one in panhellenic goes through 4500 students to get grades. That would not be legal anyway because no one but the student has access because of Hipaa. Maybe there is alot of padding going on there too, hmmmm. And it should not be hard to get such "top quality" girls to turn in something if it is requested. And by the looks of some of the tops "quality bookkeeping " I would bet membership are way off too. If you cant get them to turn in other reports I guarantee transfers, inactives and drops are not being correctly reported either. Panhellenic does not keep some giant database they micromanage it is up to each sororities exec.

but I know that my sorority's GPA is not self-reported. We have an officer on our exec board who takes care of that. Additionally, the exec board takes care of the # of actives being reported. And the $ for charity is taken care of by the exec board.

The rest of the stuff is self-reported.

And there are many reasons that someone can forget to turn the stuff in.
