rush
by: EeppppppppI am so stinking excited for sorority recruitment to start! Ole Miss has some of the best houses in the nation! Our entire Greek system is first class. I can't wait to find my new home, but with all the actives that I already know plus all the new friends I've made since classes started, I'm going to end up with friends in every sorority here! So excited that Ole Miss sisterhood extends beyond the sorority walls!

I'm excited as well for my first recruitment as an active. I cant speak for others, but our floor last year was super social & I think we ended up with girls in 7 houses. We're all still great friends & with most also in Croz, its easy to see or text each other. You sound like a great person & I hope recruitment goes the way you would like. Keep an open mind and trust the system, & dont put too much stock into any replies on this site now and especially after you get your letters!

Eeppppppp, great attitude!! There is so much ridiculous talk about "top Tier" at Ole Miss. You know which sorority is the best? The one that YOU like best! Not everyone is a good fit with every group. Let everyone find their place and enjoy being a sorority sister at Ole Miss. It will be a wonderful 4 years if you go into rush with an open mind and pledge that you open your heart to, rather than insisting that you HAVE to be an XYZ or you will die.

Well, I was really excited about rush before "Commonsense" posted her "Realistic Guide to getting a bid". Now I'm a little bummed. :-( I have friends in 4 of the 9 houses and am a triple legacy to another, but "commonsense" makes it sound like I more than likely won't get a bid to a house that I have friends in.

Commonsense wasn't trying to scare you, she's just telling the truth. So many girls come through here and think they are more special than everyone else. Every girl who comes through recruitment is special and most have the same credentials as the girls standing next to, in front of, behind you, etc. Also, a lot of the girls have friends in a few houses and are at least a double legacy in another. What she is saying is to keep an open mind, as ALL the sororities at Ole Miss are outstanding and to be happy with wherever you find your home.
