question for mississippians

Exactly why they do it, it’s very hard to have pride in a state with such a diverse and terrible history, and the flag has never done anything wrong. In my mind it’s a place where locals find pride in their state.

Clearly you’ve never been to South Carolina, because they put their damn state flag on everything. Car decals. Tshirts. Same with Maryland. Texas. Tennessee.

Drum up state pride? I don’t think other states are obsessed with their flag like Mississippi is with theirs. The civil war was about giving freedom to the slaves. That is wrong morally to make someone your slaves and taking away their freedom.
