recruitment update

This was also the year to do it! This pledge group was no where near the five star group that went through recruitment in 2018. It wasn't as competitive this year and that is why the luck was on your side.

Wow! I was only trying to give future pnms encouragement that you can get a bid to houses this site says is impossible. More importantly I went where I felt most at home not what this site said was a “top” house! I guess that should have been the real message.

Some on this site base their comments on statistics, well-known recruitment traditions, and their experience.

Things change.

There was a drop nationwide in students applying to colleges. It is expected to continue based on students currently in college. The truth may lie somewhere in between the first two posters.

I am very happy you got the house you wanted! Please know - what you consider top may not have ever been considered top by others. And that's just fine.

I think the past few years have shown some of our sororities they can't base their decisions solely on what the Mommies want, and just being a continuation of their High School.

I think more and more Jackson and MS girls are leaving the state for college so those traditional MS sororities are having to take less connected girls in to their groups which I think is great! Time for Ole Miss to move forward into the future! Congrats to the PNM who got the bid to the house she wanted because it suited her!

The house each girl got a bid from is the "Top House" for her. I know way OOS girls with no connections that got bids, they are so happy. Not everyone wants to be in or feels connected to every house...hopefully through the process they got to the house for them. The "ranks" are laughable, all houses are great here.

Gone are the days when Jackson moms can salivate over hearing all the sad, devastated pnms cut from their houses. Houses are taking girls they feel will fit best not who some outdated alum is pushing. As those girls rise in leadership in their houses alums and mommies become even more irrelevant. An exception would be ChiO whose alums are known nationally to be over involved in recruitment at all their chapters not just Ole Miss.
