by:

I heard theta is recolonizing in fall 2020! Ole miss alumnae is apparently showing big bucks to bring them back?? Any news on this?

I'm no Theta insider, but if I was placing a bet, it would not be on this outcome. SEC school, chapter closes for low enrollment on a campus where "tiers" seem to matter? Probably won't be back for 20 years like ADPi. You don't see Zeta back yet, do you?

I'm not saying I agree with any of this (or that Theta even needed to close), but, sadly, that's just how it works.

Tiers matter where? Greek rank? Certainly not on campus. Miss me with that BS.

While I wish tiers didn't matter on campus, they kinda do. It isn't the way it seems on greek rank, though - we all have friends in most houses and want every house to do well, etc. But there are just stereotypes that for some reason people can't really get over and it shows when girls go through rush and they cut houses for preconceived reasons and talk crap on certain houses because they believe they are lesser than (which is not true). I remember hearing girls outside of one house during philanthropy round my year talking to each other about how they did not want to be there at all before the round started. It indirectly hurt my feelings honestly.....While I had ranked that house in my bottom 3, I was still excited to hear about their philanthropy and meet new people since they were back on my schedule, even if I felt the house was a little awkward and I didn't really want to be there. I just still to this day can't believe PNMs were talking in a group - in front of other people - so horribly about a sorority. I just hope none of them ended up in my house

~most people don't really care. but stereotypes still stand out on campus and that's why theta had to leave.

Tiers matter in the sense that Theta wasn't treated very well sometimes. Let's keep it all the way real here.

Truth spoken in the second post here. Girls going through recruitment will often dodge the "lowest" house like they're dodging s bullet. It happens to a certain extent at all campuses...but it got really out of control with Theta here. Look at how few girls committed to them over the past few years. Girls would rather drop out and not be Greek at all than be in that house. Where are they hearing it from? Alums, yes, but other students as well. It was a bad environment for that sorority and it's a damned shame, because the Theta women I've encountered have been lovely and nothing but sweet and just as enamored with their sisterhood as we all are. I hope this campus has learned from this and it doesn't happen in the future. But let's not pretend it wasn't a problem.

Don’t expect Theta back for a long time.

AChiO is colonizing fall 2020.

No, haven't heard this, but I wouldn't count on theta ever coming back to ole miss. They were bashed for so many years that they only got maybe 1/2 of quota. Hope this doesn't happen to another sorority here. It would be nice not to have one house as a solid bottom.

Leave Theta alone! They're probably the happiest girls on campus even without a chapter or a house. They've moved on, why can't you?

also I don't think Theta will come back AT LEAST until everyone who was on campus while they were here has graduated. And 2 sororities will not colonize on one campus at the same time, so it definitely wouldn't happen in 2020 and also prob not 2021. When ADPi and APhi came they came 2 years apart so they each had a chance to plant their feet firmly on the ground

I could see them waiting like 10-20 or so years like someone else said. that is what ADPi did and it seems to have worked ok

I wouldn’t be surprised if they never came back after how they were treated. About a year ago someone asked why ZTA left and an alum - who was here when they closed - explained the low numbers etc and said that due to how they were treated (poorly but she said not as badly as Theta), they had no interest in returning here especially given how toxic the atmosphere is here.

OP Spends all day, every day on Greek Rank making stuff up, upvoting herself, answering herself to make her look important, then tells others to grow up when she gets called out for being a troll.

We see you, and we laugh at you.

IDK why anyone would bring this up except just to have something to post to deflect from other threads.

AXO is coming into old location of Theta. Theta house will be leveled. Girls from UGA and other schools along with national coming to establish. AXO national pouring $ into this chapter. After that Alpha Gam slated for next to DG. This is fact.

They will come on board and give more equity. This continues to give time as AOII, ADII, Pi Phi, and Alpha Phi continue to get stronger and stronger by recruiting great pledge classes each year. They all did very well during recruitment with great girls! AXO and AGD will be great additions to campus! AOII and AGD have a lot of similarities on many campuses with a focus on grades, talented OOS and regional girls, and very large national philanthropies. AOII, AGD, and AXO do a lot of things together on the Alabama campus, and AOII and AXO do a lot of things together on the Arkansas campus. AXO is not as large or as strong as AOII at UT, but they will do well. This will continue to bring great equity. I think the focus should be keeping everyone competitive instead of promoting tiers. Maybe images or expectations but tiers are so archaic and 1950's.

AXO seems to have an emphasis of wanting high achievers from what I have been able to see across multiple campuses in the South. If so then when they come here they could be looking for the more involved girls and campus leader types and the ones who plan to go on to grad school. Not trying to generalize too much though because of course there are those in every chapter. The best thing though will be a chance for more reasonable membership sizes for all houses!
