very confused pnm
by: helpI only had 2 houses left at philanthropy round. adpi and tri delt. Will I still get them at sisterhood? I feel conflicted because I LOVED both houses on greek day. Philanthropy gave me weird feelings, I had great conversations at adpi but I was surprised when I went to DDD and all they did was talk about themselves and have surface level conversations. I want something deep and meaningful in my future sisterhood. Will adpi stay genuine? do I give ddd another chance? or should I wait for achio?

I agree. I had 4 houses and none of them talked about their philanthropy just asking where I am from, what my parents do, or who I know in house. I was looking forward to learning about service opportunities in all the houses but I did not get the chance to ask. Hoping I return to all 4 for sisterhood to see what they have to offer.

If you get either of them back, keep giving it a shot and keep going. Every party you meet more woman and learn more about their sorority. It still gives you options and that is the best position to be in. If you take yourself out of contention, you won't have decisions and that is not as happy a position to be. Please remember it only takes ONE chapter to offer a bid! I am not trying to dissuade you from AXO at all (it's a great sorority - I have a friend in it at SMU), but it is not here yet and until they are, it's not a sure thing. Sororities plan to colonize and later will interview available women. Sometimes things don't go according to plan. I wish them well. I hope they come. Lord knows we need a new chapter, but the fact is I'd very seriously weigh turning down a real, immediate opportunity that will let you get started for one that is still on the horizon. I know and like women at both tri-delt and adpi. Every house here has all kinds of member and offer very similar Greek experiences. If you are interested in philanthropy and volunteering, they have two of the longest running and most successful nationwide philanthropies out there. (Not putting down ANY worthwhile philanthropy -- just these are the two the OP has as potential options.) They see something in you! I hope you can focus on that and be flattered and opposed to feeling sad and hurt. Rush can be quite painful, but you still have options and about 800 women want to keep getting to know and think you might make a great addition to their sisterhood. I am cheering for you.

Well said. And while AXO is a fantastic sorority (I have friends in it), I agree that there is no guarantee that you would be chosen. Just because a sorority is new to a campus does not mean they will pledge any and every girl who wants to join. New chapters with the best shot of success are those where the sorority is very selective in picking new members...top grades, honors, leadership, presentation (not a beauty queen, but nicely put together in a general sense). Go for what's in front of you now, not what might be possible later.
