memphis in/out of state

From what I’ve been seeing, do most houses consider Memphis girls like in-state girls, even though they’re technically not?

memphis girls are not technically seen as in-state girls, but they are seen as girls who have the potential to bring in other memphis girls for the future. memphis girls talk, and if a lot of memphis girls go one house here, that house is pretty much seen as top tier. on top of that, memphis girls from private schools are seen as the golden ticket for top tier sororities (aka they want her for her parents $ and her social status)

Memphis is the largest city with OM alumni. So a lot of girls from Memphis tend to be legacies to sororities here. There is a joke that Memphis is the largest city in northern Mississippi.

Your responses are what I figured, based on the Memphis girls I’ve met. They all seem to have their choice, so far.
I’m OOS and have had fun meeting so many great girls from Mississippi, Memphis, and other OOS.
I admit that I’m ready for this week to be over, though!!

So the way that Memphis works is this:
St. Mary's girls go XO,
Hutchison girls go XO (sometimes) or DDD,
St. Agnes girls go DDD, and
Briarcrest girls go KD.
They usually have good grades and family money and are considered the creme of the crop!

It all depends on where from Memphis you are from (just like every other city). If you are not connected and you were not at least well liked in high school (you didn’t have to be the most popular) then you will still have a rough rush. I know people from Memphis that get bottom tier sororities because they don’t come from good schools, good families, or just were not well liked in high school. Do not let where you are from get to your head.

You left out St. George's and other strong private schools. By the way, St. Mary's girls do not go to Ole Miss. No way. Not happening.
