by: ConfusedI’m confused with this GPA crap. We go to Ole Miss, We don’t go to Georgia or Vanderbilt. Am I missing something here? Like I’m genuinely confused. There are enough girls rushing that CHOSE ole miss with 3.5 gpas and above to fill all the houses and cut all the girls who have below that? Regardless of tiers, that seems pretty suss. Maybe I’m being stupid and all these girls went to inflated private schools who gave out 4.0s to everybody. But like how are they going to bring your sororities gpa average up once they get hear and realize they actually have to work?

I know exactly what you said. This site makes it sound like if you didn’t have a 4.0 and 10 page resume, you are going to cut from every house first round. I don’t know about you but the college prep school I went to was tough and anyone over a 3.0 worked their butts off. My gpa May be lower than some MS girls gpa but I have a feeling if a bunch of these girls went to my school they would’ve been lucky to come out w a 2.0.

A LOT of these sorority girls go to private schools, even the in-state girls. XO is the most MS sorority here and they had the highest GPA this past Spring 2019. I knew plenty of girls last year from not only private but also excellent public schools from all over the South who struggled with grades. These posts about grades and MS are getting ridiculous. Every year the girls get smarter and recruitment gets more and more competitive.

Some need to put Ole Miss down because they are writing a book, from another school, got their feelings hurt by someone in the OM community etc.
You may not realize this but, it is extremely competitive to get into schools even when you are full pay, have 35 on your ACTs, plus 1400 on your SAT and don't have any hooks other than a lifetime of community volunteering experience.
Welcome to 2019 where not everyone who goes to Ole Miss got an 18 on the ACT.

You’re correct! Those that didn’t, simply went to the local community college that has an agreement with Ole Miss. As long a they maintain a 2.0 GPA for one freaking semester they are GUARANTEED admission to OM... THEN, they go through Rush, join a fraternity or sorority, and get put on probation bec they can’t maintain the required GPA....!!!! 🙄🙄🙄

Even if you graduated from some expensive OOS college prep school with a good GPA, you still came to Ole Miss. If you really did so well then you should have been able to get into a better university where it would have mattered.
Either way, OOS girls don’t get dropped because of their prep school 3.3 GPAs, they get dropped because we know most far OOS girls are just here to party. There’s a reason the houses with the highest % of in state/southern members also have top grades.
